There are some lovely special offers at the Old Rectory Holiday Cottages in Flixton, near Bungay. Four stylish one-bedroom cottages are available for breaks in the beautiful Waveney Valley on the Suffolk/Norfolk border.
Owners Jeannie and Keith Parker moved to the Victorian rectory in 2005 and refurbished the four outbuildings, turning them into stylish holiday homes. They also developed the seven acres or so of garden, meadow and orchards into a haven for wildlife. Barn owls, squirrals, rabbits, Muntjac deer and all sorts of birds have been spotted there and the Parkers have planted over 150 fruit trees along with many native trees and wildflowers.
All this hard work has been rewarded with a Green Tourism Gold Award for their environmental work and eco-credentials and four stars and a Gold Award for excellence in hospitality and customer service.
So what’s the deal with the spring short breaks? Two nights accommodation including a fridge stocked with local ingredients for a full English breakfast (free-range bacon, sausages, eggs, home-baked bread and homemade marmalade); a two course evening meal served in your cottage (and no, you won’t have to do the washing up – that’s all taken care of) and a welcome basket on arrival with tea, coffee, cake – all the essentials, so you won’t need to worry about shopping for food during your stay.
The cost for two people for two nights is from £252 and the offer is valid from Friday, 24th of March to Wednesday, 29th of March 2017. Further offers are availabe after that, until the end of May, so please check out the Old Rectory website for further details.
